Two Men Formally Indicted for Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins
A pair of suspects stand accused of murder following the death in prison of ex-Lostprophets frontman and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.
Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.
Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after confessing to numerous sex crimes among them the effort to sexually assault an infant.
Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were confiscated.
