Aircraft Twirls Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
A chopper flying over a crowded coastal shoreline abruptly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a row of palm groves as beachgoers watched.
Recordings shared on the internet capture the chopper commencing to spiral over the shoreline then plunging towards the border of the beach, where it gets stuck between palms and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders stated five people were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the crash on that day.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
